| Mast Reforestation | Mast Reforestation built the only vertically integrated solution to reforest the growing pool of millions of acres that have been damaged by wildfire. The company removes the financial, procedural, and seed supply barriers that typically stand in the way of getting reforestation done, which led to a large and growing project pipeline. It recentlyacquired two legacy businesses to become the largest seed and seedling vendor in the West, which is the primary bottleneck to reforestation. Mast is now executing on the project backlog by leveraging project finance to generate high-quality carbon removal credits for corporate buyers. | $1M | Angel | Jul 15, 2016 | |
| Magentiq Eye Ltd | Magentiq Eye Ltd. was established in 2014 with the aim to harness the most cutting edge computer vision and deep learning techniques to aid doctors in endoscopic procedures. Doctors today spend hours during Endoscopic Procedures looking at the LCD screens in order to explore, examine and treat various conditions. At Magentiq Eye we put the growingpower of Deep Learning, Image and Video Processing to the help of doctors, so they can be more accurate and effective- ultimately saving millions of lives and billions of dollars. Our first product is APDS: Automatic Polyp Detection System, developed to be used in online and offline colonoscopies. Our APDS (Automatic Polyp Detection System) can point out the suspicious locations of polyps in the videos, increasing the attentiveness of doctors during procedures, thus helping them to reduce their polyp miss-rates. Given the large population that annually undergoes colonoscopy, even a modest decrease in polyp miss-rate can save a lot of lives! The APDS- RT runs on the video feed from the endoscopic camera used by the physician in real time during the endoscopic procedure (currently only on Colonoscopy Procedure). The APDS-OFL is a software that runs in off-line mode on pre-Recorded Colonoscopy Videos. It is estimated that 40 million colonoscopy procedures are performed every year (almost 40% in the US alone). The ability of colonoscopy procedures to decrease the number of colon cancer cases has been proven without a doubt and their number expected to grow. However, researches have shown that there is about 25% of misses (undetected polyps) in those procedures, misses which can, unfortunately, cause interval cancer. Within this context The APDS can be sold as an add-on to the colonoscopy system or as a service (license per exam), paid by the clinic or hospital. Once the APDS system would be formally proven, during the next year, to improve polyp detection rate, it could be sold either jointly with the endoscopic equipment providers or it can be integrated in the colonoscopy devices. | $100K | Pre-Seed | Jun 01, 2016 | |
| Skyfront | Skyfront builds extreme endurance, autonomous aircraft for commercial and public safety applications. The company's drones fly for hours and carry large sensors to monitor, detect, and explore for a fraction of the cost of manned aircraft. | LakeHawk Technologies | LakeHawk Technologies is to bring autonomous and unmanned surface vehicles (USV's) to a wide range of commercial, local, state and federal, non-militarized markets for scientific study, data collection / management, aqua/agriculture, transportation, surveillance and search and rescue. This will ultimately lead to becoming one of thelargest USV distributors in the United States and beyond. LakeHawk Technologies is the first company to take on the challenges in a specific unique market that currently has few competitors. LakeHawk Tech was started in 2014 by Michael Fiscus. While most groups trying to bring autonomous devices to market are focusing on aerial drones and all of the FAA regulation that comes with it, they are focused on “earth-based” devices initially in the water. Unmanned surface vehicles or USV’s have an $11 Billion market potential by 2020* *MIG Market Info Group 2013 – Year 2020 USV Estimates Their systems have been tested thoroughly for the last 2 + years with 100% satisfaction attested by several of their potential customers where they demonstrated the devices. There are both written and verbal commitments for utilizing their services at 15-20 locations as soon as they are able to deliver the devices, which would be quickly, within months. Their production line is set and ready to go. They have developed a two-stage system utilizing small 45-50” unmanned surface vehicles (USV) to provide a variety of services initially in the Nevada, California and Arizona marketplaces. Their devices are high-speed, quick maneuvering devices utilizing water-cooled, high-torque electronic motors, high power long-life Lithium batteries, stainless steel, aircraft grade aluminum, solid brass propellers which are all CNC machined for high performance and maximum life of the product. The Company is currently in development of a small solar array to be mounted on the top of the drone to provide additional mission time. They have capabilities to build them up to 9'. | $33K | Seed | Dec 06, 2015 | |
