Claire Wadlington is a startup investor at FA Technology Ventures. Claire joined FA Technology Ventures in 2002 from Cayman Systems, Inc. (a Charles River Ventures backed telecommunications company) where she was a senior management team member. In that position, in addition to significant operating responsibilities overseeing manufacturing, finance and IT, she helped position the company ultimately resulting inits sale to Netopia, Inc. (NASDAQ:NTPA). Prior to Cayman, she was CFO of two related specialty publishing companies Parent’s Plus and LocalMom.com. Claire joined the companies to expand them and to evaluate a roll up of similar print businesses. She subsequently helped execute a sale of Parent’s Plus to a subsidiary of United Business Media (LSE: UBM). Previous to these operating and executive roles with entrepreneurial companies, Claire was a senior investment banker for eleven years, including working with Ken Mabbs for five years at Gleacher where she focused on equity financings and strategic alliances for high growth technology companies. Her prior investment banking experience was at Lazard Freres & Co. and CS First Boston.She serves as a TechStars Boston mentor, a Pipeline Fund mentor (NYC) and as an expert for the Mass Technology Leadership Council’s “unconference.” Claire serves as a Director and is a Past Chair of the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge, the leading forum for the advancement of entrepreneurship in the Boston area. She serves on the Investment and Finance Committees of Crittenton Women’s Union, a non-profit which develops replicable programs to help women who cannot support their families achieve economic self-sufficiency. She also serves on the WGBH Community Advisory Board.Claire has a BA from Yale University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
