He was then appointed Head of French RetailBanking at BNP in 1990.In January 1991, he became Head of Capital Markets and then Deputy Managing Director in 1995. After being appointed Chief Executive International and Finance in 1996, he assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer of BNP between 1996 and 1999.
