He began studying Japanese as a freshman at Brown University & went on to do graduate work in classical Japanese literature at University of Chicago &Columbia University. Bruce serves on the Board of non-profits Playwrights Horizons Theater Company & the David Lynch Foundation. He speaks Japanese, French, & Italian, with a smattering of Mandarin, Romanian, & Swahili picked up along the way. He is also an exceedingly proud husband & father.
