Brigitte Zypries (* 16 November 1953 in Kassel) is a politician (SPD). Brigitte Zypries, as Federal Minister of State, succeeds Sigmar Gabriel. Prior to that, she was a parliamentary secretary of state at the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy and Coordinator of the Federal Government for Aerospace. Ms Zypries is a qualified lawyer and formerFederal Minister of Justice (2002-2009).In her work, she is particularly important to sensitize the middle class to the transition to a production network, so-called Industry 4.0, which is networked through all value-added stages, and to make the different funding instruments and networking offers of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) known. It is in close dialogue with industry, politics, civil society and the social partners.Together with these, the BMWi is working to promote and shape the political framework for the Digital Agenda. Particular attention is also given to the promotion of start-ups and medium-sized companies, both in the IT sector and in the aerospace industry.
