Brad Kotansky, Angel Investor at Copper Sky Capital

Brad Kotansky

Angel Investor @ Copper Sky Capital

Paradise Valley, United States

Brad Kotansky is a Series A investor at Copper Sky Capital in Paradise Valley focused on Internet and Software. Brad Kotansky is the Chief Financial Officer of Copperstate Farms. He is a former Co-Founder and CEO of Onist Technologies.Brad Kotansky has always been a serial investor: while pursuing his undergraduate BComm degree at McGill University, Brad was a member of the finance club and interned at ScotiaMcLeod for a wealth advisor; upon graduation, his passion for investing led him to Wall Street where he spent over a decade working as an investment banker, and later as an analyst and portfolio manager for various hedge funds; in 2012, he founded Prickly Pear Ventures, a real estate development firm in Phoenix, Arizona, to capture opportunities from fallout of the Real Estate crisis of 2009 (the portfolio of single-family homes he amassed was ultimately sold to ARPI, a publicly traded REIT in 2013). To this day, Brad continues to be very active in the angel and seed investing world having invested in companies such as Coupang, Synchtank, Playsight, New Hive and Jingle Punks. But one thing Brad had always wanted to do was start and operate a business of his own. Ari’s business plan was tweaked, and together the pair embarked on a search for a technical founder.

Jingle Punks Music provides music to television, film, multimedia and ad agencies worldwide using their proprietary search and delivery tool, the Jingle Player. Named "One of America's Most Promising Startups" by Business Week, Jingle Punks has more than 15,000 pre-licensed music cues, making it the fastest growing, pre-clearedproduction music library. Our ever growing list of clients includes NBC, CBS, Viacom, History Channel, A&E, Starz & ABC. Our music has also been featured in countless national advertising campaigns for brands like Nike, Geico, Huggies & Klondike.By using their online tool, the Jingle Player, users are able to search, organize, share and download all their music needs with the click of a button. The Jingle Player technology relies on a two pronged approach to categorizing music: software and human tagging. While there is an algorithm that runs and determines attributes and begins the categorization process, Jingle Punks stands by our belief that the human touch cannot and should not be removed from the process. Each song is meticulously analyzed and tagged based not only on it's sound and musical makeup, but also how it fits into the content we aim to place it in. By having an understanding of this angle, Jingle Punks is able to provide their clients with a search engine that is specifically tailored to their needs. $900K / Series A / May 24, 2010
