Before joining Walden, Bill was the CFO and later President, COO and Director of Brøderbund Software (BROD), a leading consumer software company. He joined Brøderbund in 1982, shortly after its founding, and served as its first CFO. Over the next 16 years, he oversaw substantially all of the company's operations and helped guide its growth to $250 million in annual revenues, over a thousand employees and a billion dollar market capitalization. Under Bill's leadership, Brøderbund was one of the most respected and profitable companies in the consumer software sector. Prior to Brøderbund, Bill was in the audit division of Arthur Andersen in Chicago, where he obtained his CPA certificate.Bill has chaired the audit committees for NASDAQ companies Design Within Reach (DWRI) and Purple Communications (PRPL) as well as being a Director at Brøderbund. He has also served on several private company and not-for-profit boards, including Apollo International, icPlanet, Hands-On Video Relay Services and Carlston Family Foundation.
