Adapta Adapta
Adapta offers a regenerative agriculture platform to deploy regenerative and climate resilient farming practices through three types of integrated solutions: (i) a technical assistance platform, (ii) a financing platform, and (iii) the AdaptaPLUS digital platform (in development). The digital MRV platform has two main functionalities: 1. Itmonitors farmers’ adoption of Regenerative Production Norms that are developed by Adapta in partnership with leading consultants to improve farmers’ transition path; 2. it measures and certifies the impacts generated by the adoption of the norms. More specifically, using a smartphone assessment tool linked to technical assistance, Adapta monitors key variables to assess if/how farmers linked to a corporate supply chain are adopting the norm that is relevant for a specific crop/commodity. Subsequently, using impact metrics that are measured through field surveys, lab analysis and satellite/drone images, Adapta traces, quantifies and certifies the adoption of regenerative practices and the environmental impacts that are generated at a farm level and in supply chains. The impacts are also validated by external auditors. By certifying their impacts, farmers provide the corporation and the financial sector with a solid and objective information that fulfills two main objectives: (i) it provides strategic information on compliance with corporate sustainability targets; (ii) it measures impacts at the farm using specific impact metrics, which are then used to provide a rational and objective basis to add value to food products and improve the farmers’ regenerative transition path. As a result, farmers and corporations have a more solid basis to price impacts, negotiate better prices and increase the value of production. This effort leads to the development of a Farm ESG Rating System that represents the risk of farmers towards achieving corporate ESG targets if they become a supplier/client.
