He is responsible for the life science investments, bringing an extensive background in healthcare as a senior executive with over 22 years of experience in the medical device business. Prior to BRM, Alon founded Aesthera Corporation - a Kleiner Perkins backed innovator of light based technologies forskin treatments - in 2004 and served as CEO and Chairman from inception through acquisition by Solta Medical six years later. Prior to founding Aesthera, he served from 2001 - 2003 as Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Aesthetic Business Unit at Lumenis. Between 1999 and 2001, he established ESC's Asia operations and served as the CEO of the Asian Operations growing the business to $38 million. While responsible for Japan and Asia, Alon played a pivotal role in both establishing and growing the Asian market for laser and light based products. Prior to that, Alon spent 10 years at Direx Medical Systems, during which he established Direx Japan as a leading player in diagnostic and therapeutic systems in the Japanese and Asian Urology market.
