Alex created USAA's Blockchain Working Group and investment thesis in blockchain [according to CBInsights, USAA was recognized as the first bank/insurance company to invest in blockchain technologies] and was responsible for the groups investments in Coinbase (NASDAQ: COIN), Saffron (acq by Intel), and CafeX, ExpectLabs (acq by Cisco), while establishing USAA's venture brand in Silicon Valley.Alex was a Director with Intel Capital, the world’s largest corporate venture group having invested over $14B globally. During his tenure with Intel Capital, Alex managed or co-managed investments in Atom Entertainment (acquired by Viacom), BlackArrow (acquired by Cross Mediaworks), ChannelM (acquired by PlayNetwork), Gametrust (acquired by Real Networks), Gaikai (acquired by Sony), Envivio (Nasdaq: ENVI), Kabam (acquired by Netmarble), K2 Network (acquired by RHI), Trymedia (acquired by Macrovision), The Generations Network (Nasdaq: ACOM), SixApart (acquired by SayMedia), and Synacor (Nasdaq: SYNC).In addition, Alex was co-founder and CEO of AppScotch, which brought transparency to paid mobile advertising. AppScotch was acquired by AppAnnie in 2016.Alex has served as a mentor to Plug&Play Silicon Valley and numerous other startups and accelerators/incubators. Alex has served as an advisor to ProSieben - the second largest media company in Germany; supports Purdue University mentorship program (SV BIG); and was a member of UNLV's Engineering Advisory Board. Alex has served as an advisor to Gamestop Corporation, Playspan (acquired by Visa), and he has also served as an advisor and mentor to dozens of early stage companies and global corporate venture groups. Alex was previously an advisor to the NVCA’s Corporate Venture working group.
